Eligibility :

  1. Secured Minimum 45% marks at the H.S.C. Examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education Pune, or its equivalent for the General Category (at First attempt) and Minimum 40% marks for the reserved category (at First attempt).

  2. Students passing Diploma in Administration Services (Commercial and Secretarial Practices) conducted by Premila Vithaldas Polytechnic , S.N.D.T. Women's University are eligible for admission to F.Y.B.M.S.

  3. A candidate for being eligible for admission to the B.M.S. degree course shall have passed XIIth Std. Examination of the Maharashtra Board of Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination or Diploma in any engineering branches with two years or three years of four years duration after the S.S.C. conducted by the Board of Technical Education, Maharashtra States or equivalent examination.

Admission Procedure :-
As decided by the University of Mumbai.

Bachelor of Management Studies (B.M.S.) :
The B.M.S. course shall be a full time course. The duration of the course shall be six semesters spread over three years.

Documents Required for Admission:-
Students should bring the following documents in original along with duly attested photocopies for verification at the time of admission:-

      1. Original Mark sheet of Graduation Examination (Commerce Stream), two photo copies of Mark sheet and one photo copy of Transfer Certificate (TC) / Migration Certificate (MC) for Part I admission.
      2. For new admission at M.Com. (Part II). - NOC with enrolment details to be produced from the previous college.
      3. One recent Passport size photography taken with light coloured dress for all classes.
      4. One recent Passport size photograph of Parent / Guardian.
      5. Address Proof (photo copy of Ration Card/ Electricity Bill/ Telephone Bill/Pass port/ Driving License) any one.

    1. Caste Certificates (if applicable)

    3. Documentary evidence regarding special category status

    4. Eligibility Certificate (issued by University) for students coming from other than Maharashtra Board and Maharashtra Technical Board). Eligibility forms will be distributed by college and same will be resubmitted to the college along with necessary documents and eligibility fees (Rs. 220/-, Rs.320/- and Rs.750/- as the case may be). Admission will be provisional till University approves the documents.

    5. Physically Challenged candidates should produce the relevant certificate from competent authority.

      NOTE:In case the original mark sheet of Graduation Examination (Commerce Stream) has been submitted for admission to any college, a certificate to that effect, signed by the Principal of that College must be produced.

Students coming from Universities/Board other than Maharashtra State:- Students coming from outside, i.e. other than Maharashtra State Board, will be admitted to the college on the basis of provisional eligibility certificate which they must obtain from the University of Mumbai. No such student will be admitted to College without provisional certificate. In case the admission of the student is found to be invalid for any reason, the responsibility will lie with the student. Students will account for the gap if any, between H.S.C. and joining F. Y. Class by submitting gap certificate i.e. N.O.C. & T.C. from previous Institute.

Admission under Minority Quota (Sindhi):
A Student seeking admission at F.Y. level under Minority Category is required to produce documentary proof (Affidavit) certifying their Sindhi Status. It is desirable that they complete the Sindhi Certificate Course.

International Students: Foreign students seeking admission are required to submit the following documents

R.4163 (ii) Total number of lectures per theory paper shall be a minimum of 50 and a maximum of 55, each of 50 minutes duration.

R.4164 (iii) For Projects, the teacher shall initially engage about 5 lectures for orientation. The students shall visit a field for data collection and analyze the same. Before the report is finalized, the students shall present their findings to the faculty wherein the faculty shall provide guidelines for finalization of the same.

R.4165 Scheme of Examination

  1. The examination shall be conducted at the end of each Semester.
  2. A paper shall carry 100 marks. The evaluation of the performance of the students in theory papers shall be on the basis of both Internal assessment (40%) and semester end examination (60%). Internal evaluation shall be on the basis of class assignments, group discussions, seminar attendance etc. The semester end examination shall be held at the end of each semester and shall be of two hours duration.

R.4166 Passing Standards

  1. A student must get 50% of the marks in aggregate of internal and semester end examination with minimum of 40% marks in the internal and semester end examinations separately to pass the subject ( for a student to pass the subject, the student must secure minimum of 40% of the marks allotted (i.e. 40 out of 100) in the internal and semester end examinations with minimum of 40% marks in internal and external examination separately (16 out of 40 and 24 out of 60 marks separately.)
  2. A candidate shall be placed in First Class with Distinction if he/she secures a minimum of 50% marks in each theory paper and with a minimum Grade of C in each project in Semester V and at least 70% marks in theory paper of Semester V & VI taken together in Aggregate.
  3. A candidate shall be placed in First Class if he/she secures a minimum of 50% marks in each theory paper and with a minimum Grade of C in each project in Semesters V and at least 60% marks in theory papers of Semesters V & VI taken together in aggregate.
  4. Carry forward of the marks in case if the student fails in one or more subject:-
      1. A candidate who fails in any particular theory paper shall be allowed to reappear for the theory paper. However, his/her internal evaluation marks shall be carried over. But he/she shall not be entitled to any class on passing.
      2. A candidate who passed in the Semester End (Theory) examination of any subject but fails in the internal examination shall appear for the internal examination of that subject only. The internal examination will consist of one project of 40 marks and the same is to be divided into : 10 marks for the presentation, 20 marks for the hard copy of the project and 10 for the viva. However his / her Semester End Examination shall be carried forward but the student will not be entitled to any class of passing.
  5. A candidate who fails in any particular theory paper shall be allowed to reappear for the theory paper. However, his/her internal evaluation marks shall be carried over. But he/she shall not be entitled to any class on passing.
    1. A candidate shall be allowed to keep terms for semester II if he/she passes Semester I OR if he/she fails in not more than two theory papers of Semester --- I.
    2. A candidate shall be allowed to keep terms for Semester III if he/she passes Semester I and Semester II OR if he/she fails in not more than two theory papers of Semester I and Semester II taken together.
    3. A candidate shall be allowed to keep terms for Semester IV if he/she passed in each of Semester I, II and III OR if he/she passes Semester I and fails in not more than two theory papers of Semester II and Semester III taken together.
    4. A candidate shall be allowed to keep terms for Semester V if he/she passes in each of Semester I, II, III and IV OR if he/she passes Semester I and Semester II and fails in not more than two theory papers of Semester III and Semester IV taken together.
    5. A candidate shall be allowed to keep terms for Semester VI if he/she passes in each of Semester I, II, III, IV and V OR if he/she passes Semester I, Semester II and Semester III and fails in not more than two theory papers of Semester IV and Semester V taken together, irrespective of his/her Grade in Project I of Semester V.
    6. A candidate who does not secure a minimum grade of C in project I has to submit a fresh project till he/she secures a minimum grade of C.
  6. The evaluation of projects I and viva-voce examination shall be by awarding grade in the seven point scale noted below :-

* Students Insurance:

Students are insured for each academic year and are liable to receive monetary benefit against hospitalization charges / damages / in case of injury on account of accidents, the upper limit prescribed as Rs. 50,000/- only.

The students of T.Y. are required to have 75% attendance in each paper by January. The Principal shall not sign the Hall Tickets of T.Y. students unless the students pass the Prelims Examination. Failures will have to appear for the Re-Prelim Examination and clear the same. Hall Tickets of such students will be signed by the Principal on clearance of the Re-Exam.

Cancellation of Admission for B.M.S.:
Students canceling their admission will be entitled to receive the refund of Semester fee paid after deduction of the amount as indicated below:

O.2859 :  Refund of Tuition, Development and all other fees after cancellation of admissions:
The candidates who have taken admission in under graduate courses in Govt. colleges, in Govt. aided and unaided courses conducted by affiliated colleges, and recognized Institutions may request for refund of fees after applying in writing for cancellation of their admission to the course.  The refund of fees as applicable shall be made on or before 30th day after the date of cancellation and thereafter.  The percentage of fee for the course shall be refunded to the candidate after deducting charges as follows :-

NOTE :  The total amount considered for the refund of fees from the commencement of academic term of the course includes the following :-

  1. All the fee items chargeable for one year are as per relevant University circulars for different Faculties (excluding the courses for which the total amount is fixed by other competent authorities).
  2. The fee charged towards group insurance and all fee components to be paid as University share (including Vice-Chancellor fund, University fee for sports and cultural activities, E-charge, disaster management fund, exam fee and Enrollment fee) are non-refundable if payment is made by the college prior to the date of cancellation.
  3. Fee collected for Identity card and Library card, admission form and prospectus, enrollment and any other course specific fee are not refundable after the commencement of the academic term.
  4. All refundable deposits (Laboratory, Caution Money and Library etc.) shall be fully returned at the time of cancellation.

Provided that wherever admissions are made through centralized admission process for professional and/or for any other courses by other competent Authorities, the Refund Rules are applicable if specified by such authorities ( as per the rules of relevant agencies) for the 1st year admission.  In case of admission to subsequent years of the course, O.2859 is applicable for cancellation of admission.

Provided further that this refund rules is concurrent with the rules and guidelines of other professional statutory bodies appointed for admission for relevant courses.

Further that O.2859-A & O.2859-B have been replaced and the amended O.2859 relating to the refund of Tuition  Fees, Development and all other fees after cancellation of admission for the Under Graduate Courses has been brought into force with effect from the academic year 2008-2009.

Dates for Refund of Deposits  (Self Financing Courses): -
Application for the refund of deposits must be made between 1st Sep. to 30th Sep or 1st Feb. to 28 Feb. of the year when applicant ceases to be a student of the college, failing which the deposit will be forfeited.
